Dual triumph - Rolfes and Carro command to release the pig During Celebration

Following a victorious end to their impressive season, team leaders Simon Rolfes and Fernando Carro gave the green light for celebration. "They can give it their all," said Rolfes en route to the huge cup celebration at the "Club Theater Berlin" with approximately 1,000 invited guests. "They've pushed through the season like this, always focused, always professional. Now they can finally embrace the experience and let loose a bit." Club manager Carro agreed: "We'll be partying until our bodies can handle no more."

Bayer solidified their achievements by securing the DFB Cup with a 1:0 win against second-division club 1. FC Kaiserslautern, completing the double with their triumph in the German championship. Leverkusen advanced to the Europa League final, where they were outdone by Atalanta Bergamo 3-0.

Post-match number 53, revelry commenced in the locker room. As shared by captain Lukas Hradecky: "There was beer, champagne, you name it! It was a truly special moment." Wirtz, Schick, Andrich and others arrived at the gathering at around 1:30 AM sporting shades. Hoffmann entered the festivities at 1:32 AM, DFB Cup in tow.

Despite being named champions on April 14, Leverkusen was unable to truly rejoice until after their last game, as there were still tasks ahead. "We haven't celebrated at all - not the championship, nothing," said Rolfes. "Now it's time for everyone to have a proper celebration without any concerns about playing again in just three days." It was then, and only then, that most of them would begin to comprehend their accomplishments. "We never got to take a moment to reflect," said Rolfes. "I'm sure they'll understand the gravity of their achievements now."
