Following reports, it's now official: - Rockstar Games announces the release date for "GTA 6."

Last year in December, Rockstar Games unveiled the first trailer for the next installment of their iconic open-world game, Grand Theft Auto. It's now confirmed when the new version of the gangsta saga will be out, but fans will have to wait until fall 2025 according to a recent financial report.

Meanwhile, publisher Take-Two Interactive is already predicting blockbuster sales for the highly anticipated title. The company stated in a press release that "Rockstar Games is expected to deliver an unmatched entertainment experience, and our expectations for the commercial impact of the title continue to increase."

The one-minute-and-a-half trailer released in December generated massive enthusiasm from fans of the beloved series. The clip topped all other video game premieres with more than 90 million views in its first day.

Moreover, the trailer became the most-watched YouTube video, excluding music videos, in just 24 hours, accumulating a total of 90 million views. On top of that, it amassed 8.9 million likes, making it the most liked video game trailer ever on YouTube.

Grand Theft Auto V, released in 2013, is now over a decade old and has sold more than 185 million copies. The name for 'GTA 6' has not been revealed yet.

What's intriguing is that the leading role will be played by a woman for the first time in the series. Moreover, GTA VI is set partly on a fictional version of the North Sea island of Sylt and Miami, resembling the setting of GTA: Vice City, which was released in 2002.
