Gentle touch-down! - Rocket made of candle wax successfully recovered.
Around fourteen days ago, a peculiar "candle wax rocket" took flight in Koonibba, Australia. The HyImpulse SR75 uses a combination of liquid oxygen and kerosene wax - similar to that in candles - for propulsion, making it nearly half the cost of traditional kerosene.
Representatives from HyImpulse revealed on Monday that the rocket had successfully landed on a parachute near its take-off location, with minimal damage. The 250-kilogram payload it could carry was also retrieved securely.
Now, this twelve-meter-long rocket will be transported to Germany for in-depth analysis.
This German-based startup plans to utilize the SR75 in the future to launch small satellites for their clients into orbit.
