Revved-Up Pete Davidson Set to Provide Comedy at Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas
Stand-up comedian Pete Davidson will hit the stage at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas on the 23rd of September, with ticket sales starting at 10 a.m. on the 11th of August via Ticketmaster.
After recently checking into a Pennsylvania rehab facility in June, Davidson is anticipated to be coming off a recovery program.
His blunder-filled past includes a car crash in Beverly Hills, where a home had to be demolished, which occurred just three months prior to the rehab. The incident involved a Mercedes which Davidson totaled. At the time, police sources told TMZ that drugs or alcohol weren't blamed for the collision. Though no arrest was made, a charge of reckless driving was placed against Davidson in June.
Most recently, he apologized to the president of PETA for a profanity-ridden voicemail message he left her.
Citing a friend of Davidson from the New York Post, "Pete regularly goes to rehab for tune ups and to take a mental break, so that's what's happening".
The 29-year-old star is reported to suffer from borderline personality disorder and PTSD. Losing his firefighter father, Scott, who passed away during the 9/11 terrorist attacks at just seven years of age, is the main inspiration behind "The King of Staten Island", the semi-autobiographical 2020 flick Davidson co-wrote with Judd Apatow, the movie's director and producer.
Despite his acting roles in film and his time on Saturday Night Live, Davidson has been practicing stand-up comedy since he was 16. His big break came in 2014 on Comedy Central's "Gotham Comedy Live", soon followed by his start on the popular sketch comedy show.
In Case You Missed It
The Cosmopolitan has announced that Davidson's Las Vegas act will be a phone-free event, a trend often seen at top-notch comedy performances. Phones and smartwatches must be placed in a Yondr pouch which can only be opened by a device operated by venue staff.
The pouch, which is thick and made of synthetic material, is carried by the guests and can only be opened in designated areas at the venue. Anyone caught using their phones outside these designated areas will be escorted out of the venue without receiving a refund.
