Brandenburg's Challenge - Restaurant targeted with butyric acid
An attack involving butyric acid took place at a pub in the town of Hoppegarten early on Tuesday morning. Firefighters from Märkisch-Oderland were quickly responding to the scene, taking measures to contain the acid. They donned protective clothing to deal with the chemical substance.
The public is not in danger, but the road in front of the restaurant has been temporarily closed for safety reasons. A protective tent has also been erected.
A specialized police unit from Brandenburg is currently handling the investigation into the identity and motive of the perpetrators.
