Resorts World Las Vegas Theater leads 2023 U.S. box office
In Billboard magazine's annual "Boxscore" list of the highest-grossing venues, Resorts World's Main Exhibition Hall was named the highest-grossing venue in the world with a capacity of under 5,000 people. This is the second year in a row that Resorts World Theater has appeared on the list, which highlights the highest-grossing venues in four size categories.
Resorts World Theater's win is based on data from 90 shows hosted by the theater from Nov. 1, 2022, to Sept. 30, 2023, in which the venue generated $45.3 million in revenue from 319,000 fans, an average per ticket $142.
The venue's draw comes from superstar musical residencies from Katy Perry, Carrie Underwood and Luke Bryan. A few dates with magician David Blaine, comedian Kevin Hart and Philly with Amy Poehler didn't hurt either.
If you divide 319,000 fans by 90 shows, the average nightly attendance is 3,544 seats (70.9%).
Venue is sold out
Resorts World Theater's 2023 total revenue topped Atlanta's Fox Theatre, New York's Beacon Theater and North Carolina's Durham Performing Arts Center.

Resorts World Theater, booked exclusively by Concerts West and AEG Presents, opens for the first time on December 1, 2021, with the premiere of Carrie Underwood’s REFLECTION: The Las Vegas Residency Las Vegas Residency) tickets are sold out.
The Great Caesar’s Ghost
Caesars Palace Arena, home to "Adele Weekend" and "Garth Brooks/Plus One," was conspicuously absent from the seating list for an audience of less than 5,000. All tickets for both 2023 shows are reportedly sold out.
Also absent is Planet Hollywood's Bakkt Theatre, which hosted blockbuster residencies in 2023 with Kelly Clarkson, Miranda Lambert and Keith Urban .
Both are hotels booked by Caesars Entertainment in partnership with Live Nation.
In a statement to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, a Billboard representative explained that box office ratings are based on numbers voluntarily reported to the publication by venue managers, artist managers and agents of. This suggests that neither Caesars nor Live Nation reported those numbers.
Elsewhere in the list
Park MGM also received recognition for its Dolby Live technology, with the venue ranking second with a capacity of 5,001 to 10,000 people. The theater, which seats 5,600 people, attracted 474,000 spectators over 96 performances and grossed $115.3 million. The Wynn Encore Theater ranked ninth, drawing 141,000 attendees and $18 million from 105 performances.
In the top stadium category, Allegiant Stadium ranked fourth with $119.3 million from 725,000 spectators over 17 games, while T-Mobile Arena ranked fourth in the over 15,000 spectator category, with MGM MGM Grand Garden ranked eighth in the over 10,001 to 15,000 audience category.
