A guy veered from the trail midday and ended up in the water. Apparently, he perched on a rock throughout the night in the Würm to prevent being swept away.
Passersby heard the wounded hiker's shouts for assistance on Sunday afternoon and phoned the fire department.
Rescuers extracted him from the water using a specialized stretcher and a rope system on Sunday evening. His leg suffered minor injuries.
The mountain rescue team also contributed to the rescue operation, navigating the treacherous landscape of a steep incline in the Würmtal valley.
