Republican Jewish Coalition Gives Donald Trump Major Backing

Donald Trump, the former U.S. president and ex-casino mogul, has fewer campaign funds for his 2024 presidential run than his Democratic opponent Joe Biden. However, a group of influential Republican Jewish donors is making efforts to change this situation.

The Republican Jewish Coalition (RJC) is an organization that works to connect the Jewish community with GOP decision-makers. It also aims to improve relations between the U.S. and the Israeli government.

Amid the unrest over the Israeli-Hamas conflict and the protests calling for the freeing of Palestine on college campuses and in major cities across the country, the RJC expresses its solidarity with Trump's White House bid. Last week, RJC officials promised to donate at least $5 million to his campaign, which is in addition to the $15 million the organization plans to distribute to GOP candidates and Trump during the 2024 elections.

Sam Markstein, RJC's political director, told Fox News, "As antisemitism spikes to record highs and America's relationship with our ally Israel continues to reach new lows, the Jewish community is more energized than ever to move on from the failures, broken promises, and betrayals by Joe Biden. November 5 cannot come soon enough."

The RJC was established in 1985 as the National Jewish Coalition and is based in Washington, D.C.

Casino Influence

The RJC gained considerable influence in the political world, in part, due to the late Sheldon Adelson, who founded the Las Vegas Sands casino empire. Adelson, who passed away in January 2021 at the age of 87, had been a member of the RJC board for a long time and his name still appears on the board with the Hebrew phrase z”l to honor his memory.

Adelson contributed significantly to the RJC's super PAC, the RJC Victory Fund. He and his wife, Dr. Miriam Adelson, also donated more than $200 million to Trump's 2016 and 2020 presidential campaigns.

Although Adelson's widow has been quiet on the spending front for the past two years, she is expected to support her friend who awarded her the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2018 for her charitable and humanitarian work.

During his term as president, Trump fulfilled one of the Adelsons' most significant wishes by relocating the U.S. Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. The Adelsons attended the embassy's opening ceremony on May 14, 2018.

Favorites for 2024

The Israel-Hamas conflict has sparked disagreements within the Democratic party and likely boosted Trump's 2024 prospects. The Biden administration's consistent financial assistance to Ukraine in its war against Russia and the high living costs in the states due to inflation have also prompted calls for a change in the White House.

According to Real Clear Politics' polling average, Trump has a lead of 0.9 points over Biden. He is also ahead in the key battleground states of Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin in terms of polling numbers.

According to British oddsmakers who accept bets on the 2024 election outcome, Trump is expected to win. William Hill has Trump at -120 (implied odds of 55%) compared to Biden at +120 (implied odds of 45%).

It is important to note that political landscapes can change quickly, and these odds may not reflect the most recent developments.
