Heartless Treatment in Wolfsburg: No Compassion Shown - Relaxing time off for EM heroes
The Bundesliga season has come to an end and most of the players are now enjoying their vacations. However, at VfL Wolfsburg, the professionals must return earlier than expected. Coach Ralph Hasenhüttl (56) wants his team back at the training ground on Sunday morning for a meeting and to receive their training plans.
Due to the European Championships taking place in Germany, some national team players, including Cédric Zesiger (25/Switzerland), Lovro Majer (26/Croatia), Patrick Wimmer (22/Austria), Joakim Maehle (26) and Jonas Wind (25/both Denmark), could have their vacations cut short. They are all likely to be part of their respective national teams' squads and may only have a week off before resuming their duties.
Hasenhüttl is determined to have all his players back by August 1 for a training camp. Whether they make it to the final on July 14 or not, everyone must be back for the preparations for the next season.
The players from Lower Saxony are not the only ones facing a potentially reduced vacation. Hasenhüttl plans to move into his first apartment in Wolfsburg for the start of the team's preparations on July 9, leaving his son and assistant coach Patrick behind. "Those days of living with my son are over," Hasenhüttl says with a smile.

Despite the busy schedule, Hasenhüttl has no plans to leave the country. "I'll stay in Germany and Austria on the balcony," he reveals with a grin.
Hasenhüttl is expected to take over from current coach Dieter Hecking for the 2021/22 season. "I've found something and I'll move in there when training starts," he adds.
