Demotion, illness, substitution! - Refrain from abandoning St. Pauli!

FC St. Pauli's extravagant championship celebrations on Spielbudenplatz will be remembered for years to come. A few of the skillful players could have been part of this excitement. However, they opted to leave St. Pauli last summer, and it didn't sit well with them.

Stay with St. Pauli, please!

The Hamburg club let him go for approximately 3 million euros. Medic had a bright start at Ajax, scoring a goal in his debut game. However, Ajax suffered early in the season, with performance declining. Before coach Maurice Steijn's exit in October, Medic seldom played, and his appearances further decreased afterward. He was resigned to the bench until the season's end.

Others faced similar luck. It feels like a hex.

Leart Paqarada (29) had a regular spot at 1. FC Köln upon transferring, but his time under St. Pauli's ex-coach Timo Schultz (46) dwindled after a muscle injury post-winter. Eventually, he was demoted to the 2nd division.

Lukas Daschner (25) had an impressive streak (34 games, 9 goals) but didn't want to stay and joined VfL Bochum. During his tenure, he appeared thrice as a starter while being subbed in 17 times. His one-goal performance paired with one assist couldn't save the team from potential relegation to the 2nd division after a 3-0 defeat against Düsseldorf, the play-off's first leg.

Betim Fazliji (25) struggled to adapt to Hamburg and preferred returning to Switzerland, ending his contract, and heading back to FC St. Gallen for 450,000 euros. Unfortunately, he suffered a torn cruciate ligament after his twelfth appearance - his return is undetermined.

David Otto (25) wished for more game time, resulting in his contract being dissolved prematurely in 2023. Though he had a solid season at third-division club SV Sandhausen (38 games, eight goals), the team finished eighth, clearly missing a shot at a return to the second division.
