'Real Housewife' Dismissed from BravoCon in Las Vegas Due to Alleged Racism Accusations

Originally, one former reality TV personality who missed out on attending the recent BravoCon event in Las Vegas was Ramona Singer from "The Real Housewives of New York". Removed from the lineup, Ramona, once well-liked, was expelled from the convention due to a racially insensitive text she shared with Page Six last week, after being accused of using discriminatory language in a Vanity Fair article.

In her message, Ramona attempted to defend her position by denying her use of an offensive word in the article despite utilizing the abbreviation 'NWord' in the text. The incident stemmed from a piece last October which included multiple accusations against her, all of which she denies to this day.

The first accusation claimed that during her last season on "The Real Housewives of New York", Singer used a racial slur towards a black crew member.

The second incident discussed a heated exchange involving Ramona and the first black star of the show, Eboni K. Williams, resulting in Ramona saying, "This is why we didn't need Black people on the show!"

The third complaint alleged that during a call for racial sensitivity training, Ramona asked if it was acceptable to say that "most of them don't" when referring to Black people.

Williams claimed that she was also on the call when Ramona mentioned this, saying, "What if they don't have a father? Why can't I say that? Most of them don't."

How Ramona Reacts

Ramona refuted all of the accusations and expressed her disappointment. "I stopped filming RHONY in February 2021. These accusations were all aired publicly in September 2021. These claims were investigated by the network back then and they found no basis for the claims. I stand by all my comments in the article," she said.

Despite her denial of the accusations, Bravo delivered a swift decision. Ramona was pulled from the upcoming season of "Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip", which premieres on Peacock next month.

Additionally, as reported by People, Singer was also terminated from her former real estate firm, Douglas Elliman, due to the controversy.

Here's Andy's Take

During the "Ask Andy" panel discussion at BravoCon, host and executive producer of the "Real Housewives" series, Andy Cohen, spoke on the matter. "I think the most that I can say is that we already shot "Ultimate Girls Trip," and she's on the show, she's not here, and that's where we're at." The topic then went further with Moderator Rachel Lindsay adding, "And I'm okay with that", gaining a response from Cohen, "It was the right call."

Andy Cohen, executive producer and host of the “Real Housewives” franchise, appears at BravoCon this weekend.
Eboni K. Williams and Ramona Singer enjoy a toast during better times on the “Real Housewives of New York” set.
