Road congestion - Railroad bridge near Hamburg is under construction, limiting the road to one lane.

Following the completion of Whitsun holidays in Hamburg, motorists should anticipate fresh road constructions across the Hanseatic city. On the A1 between Seevetal-Hittfeld and Dibbersen, the transition structures of a bridge over the railway line in Klecken (Stade district) are slated for renovation on Monday (9 a.m.). Consequently, a single lane in the direction of Bremen will be operational until June 5th, per Autobahn GmbH Nord. In case of extreme traffic congestion, motorists heading from the Baltic Sea towards Bremen are advised to take the A7 towards Hanover until the Walsrode junction, then proceed on the A27.

Transition structures denote steel facilities that cater to the shifting of a bridge at its junction with the road. If these begin to deteriorate, they may fracture or even lift from the road surface, as clarified by a spokesperson for the highway firm.

Reconstruction work is also occurring on the A23, which links Hamburg with western Schleswig-Holstein. The carriageway intended for Hamburg will undergo refurbishment between Tornesch and Pinneberg-Nord in the first construction stage from Monday until July. In both directions, the overtaking lanes will be blocked, while only one lane per direction will be accessible to traffic.

Renovations are also in the pipeline on the A7, located north of Hamburg. As reported by the operating company Via Solutions Nord, the highway, scheduled for completion by late 2018, has incurred a multitude of damages as a result of collisions and weather extremes. Between Henstedt-Ulzburg and Quickborn, the lanes in both directions - Hamburg and Flensburg - will be restricted nightly from Monday until June 2nd. Nonetheless, one lane will always be open. The restrictions span from 8 p.m. in the evening until 5 a.m. the following morning.
