"Time to Dance" - Quarter-final match played away from home

"Let's Dance" premieres on May 10, 2024: For the very first time, RTL will not air the dance show from its studio in Cologne-Ossendorf. Instead, the host duo Daniel Hartwich (45) and Victoria Swarovski (30) will broadcast from the Musical Dome. The musical "Moulin Rouge!" is currently being performed at this location in Cologne.

The quarter-finals of "Let's Dance" will take place on these same sets, which are designed to resemble the famous Parisian variety show. The remaining five couples will then dance to songs from the musical, which is based on the 2001 film of the same name by Baz Luhrmann (61). The judges will also be moved to the Musical Dome. Jorge González (56), Motsi Mabuse (43) and Joachim Llambi (59) will be present as always.

Unique TV Premiere for "Moulin Rouge! The Musical"

"We're excited for a fantastic quarter-final, as it will be the first time in the history of 'Let's Dance' that it takes place outside of a TV studio," Markus Küttner, RTL's Head of Entertainment, said in a statement. "Also happy about this special occasion is Henning Pillekamp, Managing Director of Moulin Rouge Musical Produktions GmbH, who stated, 'No production of "Moulin Rouge! The Musical" globally has ever served as the venue for a live television show.'

"Naturally, this brings new demands and procedures. Every department here is working tirelessly and we can't wait to share this massive undertaking with the TV audience as a world premiere," Pillekamp adds. "Let's Dance" is giving "Moulin Rouge! The Musical" a platform on television for its broadcast on RTL, RTL+.

"Moulin Rouge! The Musical" made its debut in Boston in 2018, followed by a move to Broadway in New York in 2019. Since November 6, 2022, the show featuring songs by Adele and Elton John has been a hit in Cologne.

On the following Friday (May 3, 2024), the semi-finals of "Let's Dance" will take place - back in the RTL studio. The remaining celebrities still in the competition are Detlef Soost (53), Gabriel Kelly (22), Jana Wosnitza (30), Lulu Lewe (31), Mark Keller (58), and Tony Bauer (27).
