On May Day, various Thuringian cities will witness demonstrations, rallies, and family celebrations. In Erfurt, the German Trade Union Confederation (DGB) organizes a significant rally with the slogan "Higher wages, more free time, and greater security." Approximately 2000 attendees have registered for this event. Thuringia's Minister President Bodo Ramelow (Left Party) is expected to participate in a panel discussion on the subject. Earlier, he is scheduled to deliver a speech at a DGB event in Eisenach.
About 40 events have been registered throughout Thuringia, according to a police spokesperson. A demonstration with roughly 400 participants from the left-wing spectrum is planned in Gera. In Sonneberg and Sondershausen, the right-wing spectrum has registered demonstrations, indicating police presence.
