Around 400 law enforcement officials are actively working. - Protesters against Israel gather in Berlin's City West.

Approximately 500 people brandished Palestinian flags, shouted "Israel is a terrorist nation" and "Stop the killing, stop the conflict. Terminate the Gaza genocide." Some individuals donned kufiya headscarves.

In addition, a sizable number of law enforcement personnel were present. Nearly 400 officers were positioned across the city, due to the police's announcement of multiple decentralized actions at 7:48 pm, as per social media entries.

Do you wonder precisely at 7:48 pm? On May 15th, Palestinians commemorate the displacement and exodus of over 700,000 individuals during the initial Middle East War in 1948. This specific portion of British Mandate for Palestine turned into Israel on May 14th, 1948. The neighboring Arab nations assaulted the newly formed state. Consequently, between 700,000 to 800,000 Palestinians were forced to leave or were driven out.

Disruptions at an Anti-Israel Demonstration in Berlin-Neukölln

An anti-Israel rally in Berlin-Neukölln degenerated into unrest during the weekend. Anti-Semites hurled bottles, erected barricades, and confronted police officers.

First, 1,500 participants joined in a rally under the banner "Solidarity with Palestine, ceasefire, ceasefire, no weapons for Israel." Then, around 100 pro-Palestinian and far-left radical youths amassed at Sonnenallee/Reuterstraße.

Numerous police officers sustained minor injuries. The authorities obtained the personal details of 49 demonstrators, probing 39 incidents.

Uprising on Saturday at a Second Anti-Israel Demonstration

The "Palestine will be free" event, set to begin at 2 p.m. from Oranienplatz in Kreuzberg, will progress past the Foreign Ministry to the Brandenburg Gate. Up to 2,000 people have registered.

Online posts across German, English, and Arabic urged, "On this Nakba Day, nothing can halt our demand for justice and liberation. We are not at liberty until Palestine is set free."

Banned Demonstrations Last Year

In 2021, the Berlin police suppressed several pro-Palestinian demonstrations, explaining the risks of "anti-Semitic sentiments and incitement for violence, glorification of violence, incitement of violence, and consequently harassment and violence." Despite the prohibitions, several protests happened in Neukölln, coupled with riots and minor commotions.
