Priscilla Presley to Lead Exclusive Las Vegas Performances
No official announcement was made and no ads were displayed when three upcoming Las Vegas performances featuring Priscilla Presley, the former wife of the late Elvis Presley, became available for purchase on the South Point casino resort's website on June 20th.
This was likely because Priscilla was trying to avoid the media spotlight after the tragic death of her daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, in January. Following the incident, she clashed with her granddaughter, actress/singer Riley Keough, over control of Elvis' former estate. Though the dispute has been resolved, Priscilla and the South Point casino resort seem to prefer spreading the word about her upcoming shows on November 3-5 through word-of-mouth, as only a small number of tickets have been sold so far.
These upcoming performances are expected to mirror the ones she had given at the South Point in April 2022, which were in the form of an on-stage interview conducted by former "Hollywood Insider" and "PM Magazine" host Sandie Newton.
Candid Answers from Priscilla
Even though the questions were relatively easy, Priscilla's responses were surprisingly open. As reported by John Katsilometes of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Priscilla shared one of the earliest signs of trouble in her marriage to Elvis during their opening night at the International Hotel on July 31, 1969.
According to Presley, one of Elvis' friends instructed the other men to place all the attractive women in the front row, so there would be blondes, redheads, and beautiful ladies. "So, you know, I noticed that, and I thought, 'OK, I guess that's the normal thing.' But then I started seeing them in the dressing room, and the guys bringing them in, and, you know, introducing them to Elvis."
Priscilla and Elvis split up in 1972, getting divorced a year later, but they continued to co-parent their daughter, Lisa Marie, on amicable terms.
The Recent Scandal
A little over three weeks after Lisa Marie, the sole heir to her father's fortune, passed away unexpectedly at age 54 due to a small bowel obstruction caused by bariatric surgery on January 12th, Priscilla filed a petition to challenge a 2016 amendment to her daughter's will. This amendment replaced Priscilla and a former business manager as trustees of the estate and replaced them with Lisa Marie's four children: Riley, 14-year-old Harper and Finely Lockwood, and Benjamin Keough, who had taken his own life in 2020.
This petition was later settled, with Keough as the sole trustee but Priscilla, reportedly, receiving millions.
