TV celebrity Martin Brambach is in the spotlight. - Primetime movies fall short financially.
Actor Martin Brambach, age 56 and star of Dresden's "Tatort," understands the entertainment industry. He shares his insight that financial stability isn't necessarily guaranteed in this line of work, despite its popularity belief. Having spent almost four decades in this profession, he's branching out and taking on fresh challenges.
There's a new "trash show" creating a stir in the ARD media library, unlike any before - the comedy series "Player of Ibiza," created by the same minds behind "Die Discounter."
The premise: Brambach portrays the editor-in-chief of a dating program, responsible for managing five rambunctious alpha males determined to win a date with the "Queen." What they don't realize is that the show's rules will be drastically different, and the same was true for Brambach when he received the casting offer.
The setting for this comedy wasn't, as the title may suggest, in Ibiza.
Brambach also lists theater in his repertoire. With his wife, actress Christine Sommer (54), he shares a production of "Der Gang vor die Hunde," adapted from the popular novel by Erich Kästner that launched Friday at the Renaissance Theater in Berlin. However, juggling this role with his ARD's crime series "Blind ermittelt" proves a delicate balance. Each episode of a "Tatort" shoot averages 21 working days (a month).
The prolific performer discusses, "You need to be strategic. I believe it's valuable to have diverse experiences, and I aim to create four to five films a year. I enjoy the variation of my characters, but it's also crucial to consider my family's needs." He thrived in seven productions in 2023 alone.
