The office of the prosecutor is scrutinizing a case. - Police raid on meat wholesaler in Saarbrücken
Three police vans along with civilian vehicles showed up at the scene.
Tekdemir, the company specializing in making kebab meat, has operated since 1995. It provides jobs to 20 employees and serves approximately 100 restaurants.
In the previous year, the neighboring company YEK Geflügelfleisch made news: Investigators from Hessian LKA and special forces chased a drug dealer for over 200 kilometers until they reached Saarland. At the poultry meat plant, they made their move.
Two of the four drug traffickers managed to escape through the roof. They were eventually captured in a dimly lit alleyway. During their arrest, the officers recovered tens of tons of marijuana and hashish in a metal cabinet.
The Tekdemir family is not new to the legal system and media: A decade ago, they were involved in a violent altercation during a court case between the regional court and Saarland's parliament. Law enforcement had to intervene with great force.
The prosecutor's office confirmed, "Due to legal reasons, we cannot provide information on the case. Two search warrants were executed."
No arrests have been made so far and the inquiry remains ongoing.
