Poker pro accused of cheating to win $3 million

"Tony Mars" Shen is accused of swindling millions of dollars from a private poker game in Southern California. Poker pros Nikhil “Nik Airball” Arcot and Wesley “Wes Side” Fei made the accusations on X/Twitter this weekend.

According to Hustler Casino Live regulars, Shen brought a deck of tricks to a private casual game in Yorba Linda, California, where Arcot, Fei and other friends played with blinds of $25/$50 and $50/$100.

According to unconfirmed accounts, Shen's deck of cards is said to allow him to see through the cards, presumably with the help of special contact lenses. Shen is said to have won just over $3 million over the course of about a year with the deck.

"After one game, we discovered a cheating deck," Wesley told PokerNews, which reported the story. "This deck is a really good cheat deck that you can't find. But we go into a very dark room and use a blue light, and then you can see the numbers on the back of the deck."

According to Wesley, Shen himself won approximately $1.6 million. However, in addition to his deck, he also brought two co-conspirators to the tournament, whose winnings totaled $1.5 million.

Wesley told PokerNews he has lost a total of $1 million in the twice-weekly event, which he last played in October. Acott posted on

"All details and everything else will be released soon in a more digestible form," Acott posted on Sunday.

Shen denies cheating

According to Wesley, after being confronted with the evidence, Shen admitted that there were markings on the deck. However, he denied cheating.

It was a special deck and he admitted there was something wrong with the deck," Wesley said. Wesley said Shen told him he didn't know who brought the deck to play with.

"Mars said, 'Maybe you lose and you don't want to pay, so you switch decks,'" Wesley told Poker News. "How could we lose if we cheated?"

These charges have nothing to do with Hustler Casino Live, which is still reeling from its own poker cheating scandal last year.

Shen has yet to confirm the allegations via his X/Twitter account @Marsback2earth.
