Playmobil manufacturer Horst Brandstätter Group reveals its revenue decline for the past two years. The company's revenue amounted to approximately 490 million euros in the 2023/2024 financial year, a significant drop from the 571 million euros recorded in the 2022/2023 financial year. Comparing this to the 736 million euros from the previous year, the company has experienced a decline of about a third within a two-year period. They didn't provide any information on their profits or losses.
Last year, the company reorganized its management and had plans to reduce approximately 700 jobs by 2025. Most of these layoffs have already been carried out, it was recently announced. Horst Brandstätter Group, like many other companies, is dealing with a weaker economy, stubborn inflation, increasing labor, transportation, and energy costs, as well as lackluster consumer spending and reluctance to spend.
Despite the difficulties faced in the past two years, the Playmobil parent company is more hopeful about the coming months. According to them, "After two challenging years, Playmobil has a positive outlook for the approaching months." Their cost-saving efforts in the production facilities have led to significant savings and a decrease in inventories without sacrificing ability to make deliveries.
