Frankfurt's rising star shines in close-range World Cup - Piqué's remark: "Götze doesn't seem to fit the footballer stereotype"

A World Cup event takes place prior to the European Championship - the "Kings League World Cup" in Mexico. This is the international debut of the Kings League, a small-sided Spanish league created by Gerard Piqué (37).

Competing in this tournament are 32 teams hailing from 18 different countries. The games are played in a seven-a-side format with specific rules for more entertainment, and it's become very popular in Spain.

Experienced streamers, social media stars, and renowned athletes are expected to drive considerable attention to the championship. Some of these individuals will participate as players themselves - for instance, Eden Hazard (33) from Team Depostra or Francesco Totti (37) with the Stallions.

Others will engage as the presidents of their respective clubs, such as Rio Ferdinand (45) with FIVE FC, Neymar (32) from Furia FC, and Mario Götze (31) who'd represent the German team Youniors FC.

Regarding Götze's involvement, Piqué stated, "To be sincere, Mario reached out to us initially. One of his friends inquired if we could make an arrangement. We were elated,

as the connection was fantastic - he's a renowned footballer. He also expressed his interest in aiding us with investments or discussions for expanding the Kings League."

Götze established the team Youniors FC in collaboration with internet personality Younes Zarou (26) who boasts 9 million Instagram followers. The roster features prior celebrities including Änis Ben-Hatira (35) and Daniel Brosinski (35).

On Sunday, Youniors FC will face the Spanish Kings League champions, Saiyans FC, in their match. Matches will be conducted in a tournament format within a hall in Mexico City, with the Final Four taking place in early June at the Estadio BBVA in Monterrey (53,500 seats).

Every game will be streamed live on Twitch. The grand prize for the championship is a staggering one million euros!

The organizers of the Kings League are currently cash-rich, as they received 60 million euros in the spring from two significant investors.
