Prussia's Vigilant Observation - Pfeifer remans in Münster; likely until autumn...
This individual tends to stay in the shadows, yet he's crucial to the club. Ponder over this question: for how long would it last...
Around three years back, sports administrator Peter Niemeyer (40) enlisted Bernd Pfeifer (69), a scouting specialist. They had a history together when Niemeyer was a field player for Werder (32 appearances), and Pfeifer was searching for potential talents in Bremen. Among the gamers they spotted were Miroslav Klose, Kevin de Bruyne, and Frank Baumann, who joined the Hanseaten squad.
Although he's been retired since 2021, Pfeifer's eye for undiscovered talent in Preussen was still yearning for a role again. "In Munster, I sensed the trust and enthusiasm that I could lend my expertise," he expressed at the time. He has excelled in this endeavor, leading to the club's promotion from the regional league to the second league.
Yet, one has to wonder, will things end there? With Niemeyer's impending departure to serve as "Head of Professional Football" at Werder from the first day of July, Pfeifer's time with Preussen is also coming to a close. However, Ole Kittner (36), Munster's new sports manager, can rest easy for now: "Bernd is fully engrossed in making plans for the upcoming season with us. He's still giving his all for Preussen."
He showed up for a scouting meeting in Munster on Tuesday as well. Munster's team, led by Hildmann, needs five or six additional players to compete in the German Football League. Besides Sebastian Vasiliadis (26), from Hansa Rostock, who might not be an attractive option, plus Antonios Papadopoulos (24), from BVB II, several other suitable replacements are being discussed.
Possible additions to the team include forward Ba-Muaka Simakala (27) from Holstein Kiel, who was loaned to Kaiserslautern (18 appearances, 1 goal). Or Tom Sanne (20) from Hamburger SV, who scored 24 goals in 32 matches in the regionalliga Nord for the U23 side this season - and was also capped five times for Germany's U19 national team. Sanne is an offensive player who can play as a striker, hanging forward, or in an attacking midfield role. The caveat - he's more proficient finding the back of the net than sprinting quickly.
Kittner remains tight-lipped about all of these names, exhaling deeply: "We're discreetly browsing the market. There'll be no announcements in the immediate future..."
Another Preussen player, defender Alexander "Ali" Hahn (31), has moved on to MSV Duisburg. Another Munster native, goalkeeper Roman Schabbing (22), who arrived three years ago from MSV, will showcase his skills for FC Gütersloh. The fourth-division side made the announcement on Instagram on Tuesday. Captain of the squad is also an ex-Münsteraner, Julian Schauerte (36). Schabbling, touted as a big prospect, made 27 appearances in the U23 of "Adlerträger."
