Monarch Charles III takes the throne. - Petite golfing facility on a regal property

The 75-year-old King Charles III has a fresh idea for his 243-hectare park at his Sandringham estate. This summer, he plans to construct a miniature golf course on his country estate, located in the English county of Norfolk. From July 1st to September 15th, people can enjoy a round on the 18-hole course, according to British news source "The Sun."

Lovers of minigolf and the royal family can reserve a time slot to play on the course between 11 am and 4 pm. Typical obstacles on the course will include windmills, tunnels, and castles. The cost has also been disclosed: adults will pay around €8 for a game on the royal grounds, while children will only pay about €6.

Sandringham House is one of the most renowned stately homes in England. The land has belonged to the monarchy since 1862. Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022) had a special connection to the country estate, while Princess Kate (42) took time to recover there following her abdominal procedure earlier this year. Traditionally, the royal family attends the Sandringham Church service during Christmas.

King Charles' new patronage is relevant to the golf course opening

The arrival of the mini golf course aligns perfectly with Charles' new role: he recently assumed the role of patron for the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews, as reported by the BBC. The golf club was established in 1754 and is considered the birthplace of golf. Prior to King Charles, his mother Queen Elizabeth (1926-2022) held the patronage of St. Andrews for an impressive 70 years.
