Pequot Woodlands Casino opens at Foxwoods Resort
Foxwoods Resort The new 50,000-square-foot Pequot Woodlands Casino opened this week, the latest addition to Connecticut's growing gaming hub.
Located in the heart of the Grand Pequot Concourse tribal complex, it features more than 430 slot machines, a 40-seat bar and 24 gaming tables. Games include blackjack, roulette and craps.
The interior features Pequot design. Patterns of wood and trees are found throughout, and windows look out onto a rural forest. There is also a separate high-limit slot machine room with an area of approximately 12,000 square meters and approximately 130 machines.
"Every product ... is brand new," said Jason Guyot, CEO and president of Foxwoods Casino Resort. "So the latest games, the latest products, the best latest technology, not just in the high-limit areas, but throughout the casino."
Immersive interactive machine
Guyout describes the machines as “first-rate and state-of-the-art.” One of the machines is 14 feet tall. Pequot Woodlands has 15 of these models.
Guyot said the machines are interactive and very immersive.
We want to make sure we have a diverse offering and we have very close relationships with most providers, whether it's IGT or Aristocrat," he added. "We'll be launching some now Novomatic games. "
With multiple lines, players can place bets ranging from a penny to a dollar or more. Some devices come with a 145-inch vertical LED display.
“We’re excited to introduce this to our guests, who will be instantly captivated,” Guyot predicts. “We have some offerings in other areas of the resort, but these are brand new games that have just been installed, so we know our guests will really enjoy this.”
He adds that the key to guest satisfaction is ample access and variety.
“Every guest is a little different. Some guests like variety and like to jump from one game to the next. “Some guests want to jump right into the game and play games as they go,” Guyot said. “I think it’s a case for everyone. All a little different. But I think what everyone really wants is usability and good variety in games. "
Hell’s Kitchen Open
Several new restaurants are located near the Pequot Woodlands Casino, including the recently opened Gordon Ramsay Hell's Kitchen.
The restaurant even has its own private dining room.
This upscale restaurant attracts the attention of many casino visitors. Last Wednesday, after the restaurant closed, many patrons of the arcade stopped by before it opened for dinner. They just looked at the electronic menu posted at the entrance. Beef Wellington is one of the most talked about entrees.
Visitors even stood at the entrance to take photos.
Additionally, prominent billboards were erected on Connecticut's I-95 this week announcing Hell's Kitchen is coming to Connecticut.
Wahlburgers, a burger restaurant and bar chain run by actor Mark Wahlberg and his family, and Drip Bar are located next to the new casino. A new Asian restaurant, Golden Dragon, also recently opened nearby.
Construction continued over the weekend in preparation for its public opening this week.
“It looks great,” Guyot said of the new expansion. “I’m very proud of what we accomplished there.”
