Pacquiao has his own Macau slot machine
Manny Pacquiao has had success in boxing, politics and as an entertainer. He has a huge fan following around the world, especially in the Philippines and throughout Asia. So it's no surprise that Pacquiao would soon be the subject of his own slot machine, making his debut in China's gambling hub of Macau.
The box icon has a slot
Pacquiao has planned to visit Macau later this year. He will face American boxer Brandon Rios on Nov. 23 as part of a card expected to resonate in China and around the world. But a few months before the event, he will be heading to Macau again to introduce a new slot machine from Aristocrat Technologies based on his legendary boxing career.
“We’ll probably go to the United States first and then do an Asian tour and maybe Singapore and Macau,” manager Eric Pineda said in an interview with Macau Business Daily.
The game called Mega Manny Jackpots isn't ready for release yet. However, a prototype version was displayed at the Venetian Macau as part of Global Gaming Expo Asia 2013.
Jackpot
Mega Manny Jackpots features a progressive jackpot that players can compete for while enjoying famous moments from the boxing champion's career. Of course, there's some artistic license within the scope of the slot machine, as Pacquiao never loses a fight in the ring.
"It's still in development, but it looks really good," Pineda said. "It would be nice if they could make it look nicer."
Given Pacquiao's iconic status in boxing and Asia, there's no doubt that Mega Manny Jackpots will be a hit among Macau gamers.
David Punter, general manager of Aristocrat Asia Pacific, said: “Manny Pacquiao is an iconic figure and hero in the region and around the world, and we are delighted to be involved in the development of this product.”
