Oscar De La Hoya Lists Las Vegas Mansion for $20 Million

Ex-boxer Oscar De La Hoya is trying to make a profit off the Las Vegas house he bought two years ago by selling it for approximately $5 million. In May 2022, he spent $14.6 million on this property.

De La Hoya, otherwise known as "The Golden Boy," was a champion for years, claiming 11 world titles in six different weight classes as well as a gold medal during the 1992 Olympics. According to Forbes, he made $500 million over his successful 39-6-0 boxing career and currently holds a $200 million net worth.

This single-story mansion, built by Las Vegas-based Blue Heron Homes in 2023, is situated on just under an acre of land on a hill in the guard-gated MacDonalds Highlands community, which is adjacent to the Las Vegas Strip in Henderson, Nevada. It features stunning views of the city, mountains, and Strip.

The house has a grand entry with a porte-cochere and a water element. Next to it are a spacious living area, a kitchen, a separate butler's kitchen, a temperature-controlled wine room, and an outdoor living room with a fire pit.

The home offers various entertainment options, including a golf simulator, a game room, a media room, a home gym, a hair salon, and a wet bar. There are several pools outside, including one for swimming laps, as well as outdoor dining areas with TVs.

Saying Goodbye to Boxing

De La Hoya retired from boxing in 2009. Similar to his former ring rival Floyd Mayweather, he began a second career in boxing promotion. His company, Golden Boy Productions, organized the Canelo Alvarez-Gennady Golovkin rematch at T-Mobile Arena in 2018.

Mayweather purchased a 16,357-square-foot mansion in Queensridge, located in the northwestern part of the Las Vegas Valley, in 2018. This location is about 30 miles away from MacDonald Highlands where De La Hoya's home is located.

Although their neighbors missed out on observing the chance encounter between these two former opponents at the local Starbucks, who knows where De La Hoya's future endeavors may take him next.
