Captain's directive is evident. - Omlin confronts the experts on accidents!
The goalkeeper for Borussia Mönchengladbach, Jonas Omlin (age 30), was one of just a few positives in their dismal 4-0 loss at Stuttgart. It was his impressive saves that prevented an even more devastating scoreline.
Omlin doesn't pull any punches, taking Gladbach's relegated players to task!
He said, "We can at least be thankful for getting away with less damage. This season could have been catastrophic for us. Everyone, from top to bottom, must be aware of this. Every player on the team needs to step up their game, even me. We need to work harder and be more thankful for the opportunity to play for Borussia Mönchengladbach."
Omlin only had seven Bundesliga appearances
Omlin acknowledges his need for improvement.
Earlier in the season, he underwent shoulder surgery and managed to play in only seven matches. In the process, he let in 18 goals and didn't manage to shut out the opposition.

Omlin responded, "I'm just as disappointed with this season and the shoulder injury I suffered. Despite the difficult situation, I'm proud to have made a comeback. Recovering from a shoulder injury, especially for a goalkeeper, isn't a guarantee."
He dismisses any rumors about his potential departure after under a year and a half at Borussia, stating:
Omlin: "I never thought about leaving. I only played in a few games for Gladbach in the Bundesliga this season. Games on my record and more games in the future are what I want."
