Positive developments following a pulmonary embolism. - Olympic medallist Kristina Vogel is set to be married.
Kristina Vogel (33) has a happy update!
It's great news for Vogel after she survived a near-death experience from a pulmonary embolism. A few months ago, surgeons had to intervene to remove clots from her lungs, with her right lung nearly collapsing due to numerous thrombi and her left lung on the brink of collapse. These situations put tremendous strain on her heart.
Things are looking up for Vogel now. After receiving clearance from her doctors post-surgery, she and her partner relaxed on a 21-day cruise, ending in a beautiful marriage proposal.
Vogel's fans had already been speculating about an engagement, as she was captured on Instagram sporting a suspiciously shining ring during the "Greentech Festival" in Berlin. Finally, the official confirmation is out.
Not the first time: Vogel and Seidenbecher have faced misfortune
Vogel and Seidenbecher have been a loving couple since 2005. Throughout their relationship, they've faced some difficult times.
In 2018, Vogel was involved in a terrible accident during team sprint training, putting her in an induced coma. Vogel miraculously survived, but her life was forever altered; she is now a paraplegic, confined to a wheelchair.
Throughout these challenging moments, Seidenbecher was always there for her. When Vogel encountered her most recent hardship, he drove her to the hospital, ensuring she received the life-saving care she needed.
Now, these two are ready to start a new chapter in their lives.
