A parcel-car goes up in flames. - Officer saves canine from fiery inferno

In the town of Röthenbach, a GLS delivery van suddenly erupted in flames in the afternoon. The cause - a mechanical issue in the engine area. The vehicle quickly turned into a raging inferno on Rückersdorfer Straße.

Some of the packages in the van held items sensitive to heat, like batteries from high-powered devices, such as those used for drones. This led to a series of explosions, which also affected two cars parked nearby.

The person who owned one of the vehicles next to the burning van ran towards the police barrier, shouting frantically, "My dog is still in the car!"

Swift-thinking officers came to the rescue, hurriedly extracting the frightened pet from the intense heat inside the car.

The firefighters of Röthenbach spent over an hour and a half putting out the fire in the GLS delivery van.

The total damage caused by the fire exceeded 14,000 euros, leaving no one injured.

Many customers are now waiting for their order: the parcel trolley and its contents are now only worth their weight in scrap metal
