Off-Strip Murder Results in Teen's Arrest in Las Vegas Crime Roundup
During the weekend, a 19-year-old was held in custody after being captured on Friday for a lethal shooting that took place earlier this month near the Las Vegas Strip. Robtravion Lee is believed to have taken a life in a parking lot on West Sahara Avenue. Authorities claim Lee shot and killed a man in the area.
Lee is now charged with:
- Open murder
- 3 counts of armed robbery
- Burglary while carrying a deadly weapon
KSNV reported the severity of the charges. Lee was brought to the Clark County Detention Center and is set to appear in court on Monday. He has yet to respond to these allegations. If convicted, he could spend the rest of his life in prison.
The deceased, Tymere Snead, 23, was transported to University Medical Center with a gunshot injury to his torso. He died at the hospital. An autopsy concluded the shooting was indeed a murder. After the incident, Lee left the crime scene. Police investigated the area and managed to identify Lee as the perpetrator. The crime scene's motive seems to be a robbery. It's unclear if Snead fought back or if Lee was successful in stealing anything from the victim.
In a completely different scenario, Allery Marquez Espino, a former Nevada Parole and Probation officer, was apprehended on Monday. He has been charged with law enforcement engaging in sexual acts with a person under arrest or detained, according to the Las Vegas Review Journal.
He is scheduled to appear at Las Vegas Justice Court on August 31. Espino encountered the woman in 2020 while she was recovering in a hospital room. He managed to secure her as his case. Espino and the woman hit it off and exchanged phone numbers. She sent him a photo in lingerie, while he sent her a picture of his private parts.
During their WhatsApp conversations, Espino mentioned he wanted "to sneak into the hospital and have sex with her" and "want(ed) to tie her up and choke her during sex," as mentioned in the arrest warrant.
The woman then requested Espino to come to her hospital room and conduct a "pretend" check on her. Upon arriving, Espino lay down in the hospital bed with her and they had sex. He was still wearing his law enforcement uniform and vest when the act took place.
Later, she found out that another probation officer had been assigned to her case. When her medication was adjusted, she recognized what happened was a mistake. Marquez Espino advised her to get a different probation officer, and she did.
However, when her painkillers reduced, she realized that her relationship with her probation officer was questionable. Later, she notified a judge about the incident, who directed her to file a complaint or case.
She allegedly filed a report with Parole and Probation's human resources department. Later, while in jail, she told an officer about the act she experienced with Espino. The cop informed his sergeant, who then notified detectives. Marquez Espino eventually stepped down from his job.
A 19-year-old man was detained over a fatal shooting that occurred near Las Vegas Strip on July 7. The victim is 23-year-old Tymere Snead. Lee, the suspect, is facing multiple
If convicted, he could be imprisoned for several decades. Snead sustained a fatal gunshot wound and was declared dead at University Medical Center. The autopsy proved that the murder was a homicide.
