VfB's goalkeeper is headed to the European Championship. - Nübel anticipates the arrival of the newcomer.
Due to sudden shoulder injury, goalkeeper Bernd Leno (32) from Fulham has dropped out from the German squad for the European Championship. Step up Alexander Nübel (27), who gladly replaces him.
"It was a pleasant shock. I was already planning a safari trip in Tanzania, but I'm thrilled to swap it for a spot in the national team and playing at the Euros in Germany," Nübel expresses.
For a while, rumors of a chilly relationship between Nübel and Germany's regular goalkeeper, Manuel Neuer (38), were circulating. However, Nübel dismisses such claims. "We actually had a good rapport at Bayern. It was sometimes exaggerated in the media. I can't wait to spend time with the four of us in the goalkeeping session - there's immense talent there," he says enthusiastically.
