Novomatic obtains G4 accreditation.

The Austrian gaming powerhouse Novomatic AG has been granted the G4 certificate by the Global Gambling Guidance Group. This is a prestigious certificate given for significant achievements in the realm of player protection. The certification process is known for its strict and complex criteria. Let's dive deeper.

The Novomatic AG, based in Gumpoldskirchen, has become the first Austrian gaming provider to receive a G4 certificate for responsible gambling. This is the highest international standard for player protection. It was awarded by the Global Gambling Guidance Group, which aims to minimize gambling risks as part of a worldwide certification program.

Not only the main company went through the certification process, but also ten of its subsidiaries in Austria, Germany, the Netherlands, and the UK have undergone it. The entire group has met the demanding requirements of 100 independent auditors.

These standards encompassed internal company protocols, codes of conduct, and staff training in age recognition, youth protection, addiction prevention, and money laundering. Additionally, the self-exclusion tools of the companies were evaluated, as well as the employees' understanding of gambling risks. Customer service, marketing, and bonus offers were also among the areas examined.

Programs for employees

A key aspect was the training opportunities and support services for employees. The gambling industry poses a higher risk for employees developing harmful gambling habits themselves. Due to their constant exposure to gambling and regular encounters with problem gamblers, G4 considers it imperative to implement a support system known as the "Employee Assistance Program" (EAP).

Executive team rejoices

Unsurprisingly, the executive team of the global group was thrilled with the accolade. In a press release, Novomatic CEO Harald Neumann expressed his "pride" in being the first Austrian gaming company to receive this certification. This recognition reaffirms Novomatic's leading position in the market and its ambitions to provide responsible entertainment. The statement continued:

"With a workforce of more than 30,000 employees, the Novomatic Group is one of the largest gaming technology groups worldwide. As a result, we carry a special responsibility and aim to certify the majority of our operations based on the strictest player protection standard globally. This will set a high minimum standard across the group, ensuring our customers can use our products and services in a safe and conscientious manner."

Dr. Eva Glawischnig, Head of Responsibility and Sustainability at Novomatic, also praised the company's responsible approach to child and youth protection. She said, "We are thrilled to have received the coveted G4 certification, which is a truly industry-leading initiative across multiple countries and sectors. This exemplifies our responsible attitude towards safeguarding minors and players. As a technology provider, we are also making a statement about how central the topic of responsible gaming is to us."

The Global Gambling Guidance Group has also congratulated Novomatic. Lead auditor Ynze Remmers praised the high standards at Novomatic. He remarked that the largest international subsidiaries had already been certified according to the G4 standards "within a short period of time." This highlights that Novomatic demonstrates its commitment to comprehensive and effective player protection by submitting to external verification based on stringent criteria. It's anticipated that Novomatic will maintain these high standards in the future. The G4 audit procedure will be repeated in two years.

Numerous accolades this year

It's been an eventful year for the European gaming market leader. In February, Novomatic earned two awards: firstly, it received the full "Audit berufundfamilie" certificate, which scrutinized the compatibility of work and family life within the company. This certificate was presented in Vienna by Austrian Federal Minister for Family and Youth, Juliane Bogner-Strauß.

Novomatic was also honored with the title of "Casino Supplier of the Year" at the Global Gaming Awards in London for the second time in a row. This was in connection with the prestigious ICE Totally Gaming industry trade fair. Innovations in biometric data evaluation by Novomatic were crucial to receiving this distinction.

In June, Novomatic was recognized with the World Exhibition Stand Award for the second year in a row. The company's stand, covering around 5,000 square meters at ICE, attracted over 28,000 visitors. The jury referred to it as an "impressive digital amphitheater."

In September, Novomatic's sports betting subsidiary, Admiral, secured the "Great Place to Work" certificate. This involved assessing the attractiveness of the company based on employee feedback. Without question, Novomatic is a beacon of the thriving global gaming industry, given its achievements this year. Only time will tell if it can sustain this level of success in the future.
