Ländle experiences thunderstorms and downpour rains. - No significant flood threat across wider regions.
On Whit Sunday, the German Weather Service (DWD) informed us of the possibility of sporadic thunderstorms in the northern region of the country. Lucky for us, the south is expected to see more hours of sunshine.
While Whit Monday is starting off bright and clear, clouds will start to gather as the day goes on. Keep in mind that scattered showers and even thunderstorms might ensue by the mountains. The temperature's expected to reach 19°C in elevated regions and 25°C in the areas of Kraichgau.
As for the rest of the week, Tuesday will be a gloomy day with highs only reaching 23°C. The rain will persist and occasional heavy thunderstorms will appear. Wednesday's weather will consist of continuous rainfall, and the sky will be cloudy throughout the day.
Although the rainy conditions might lead to flooding across the whole region, as of now, there is no super-regional risk of this occurring. However, local flooding due to heavy rain or thunderstorms can't be ruled out entirely.
