Spending six months in a shelter. - No one desires to work with the divorce dog Carlo.
Carlo, a mix of black and white, has been calling the Crimmitschau animal shelter in Saxony his home for the past six months, and faced difficulties in finding a new one. Note that after his appearance on the MDR show "Tierisch, tierisch" on May 1st, not a single call was received, no one was interested in adopting him.
Sadly enough, Katrin Junold, the animal shelter manager, told Freie Presse, "There was no interested party." They are actively looking for a secure home for him in the country. In the event Carlo remains, he might have to share his shelter room with others indefinitely.
The resourceful shelter had better news, however. Each of the other six cats seen in the show were successfully placed. The 6-year-old Dachshund, Waldi, was particularly lucky with over 40 people wanting to adopt him.
But poor Carlo, wasn't so fortunate. There was a suspect theory that his "aggressive" outlook was a concern. Perhaps it's his similarity to a fighting dog that kept people away.
However, Carlo at 55 centimeters, was full of energy and needed a family that had the time to devote to him.
To be honest, he was through a tough time. His original family split up, and they had given him to acquaintances, possibly they were overwhelmed by his high-spirited behavior. After just two days, they returned him to the shelter.
Amiable Carlo simply craved for company - he couldn't be alone in an apartment for long hours. Should you wish to get acquainted with Carlo, walk him more frequently. Then both of you would be able to decide if the connection is worth pursuing. Carlo relished car rides and got along with older children. But please bear in mind, he disliked spending excessive periods alone.
