Prussia suffers a setback in the Verl encounter. - No blooms adorned Niemeyer's event.
Due to a disappointing 0-2 loss against SC Verl on Sunday, third division team Münster has to push back their home final on Saturday against Unterhaching (13:30/live on Magenta Sport and WDR).
After Prußen's mishap in Verl. No flowers for Niemeyer!
Saying goodbye to Alexander Hahn (31), Darius Ghindovean (22), Shaibou Oubeyapwa (31), Dennis Grote (35), and sports director Peter Niemeyer (40) won't happen before the match against SpVgg. While the perfect setting of Antik-Arena on Hammer Straße, with almost 13,000 attendees, would be perfect for the obligatory flower bouquet and heartfelt words of gratitude, focus is solely on the crucial Unterhaching game to secure a home victory and fend off relegation threats (May 24 and 28 - against Wehen Wiesbaden).
Grote, a midfield veteran (37), is guaranteed to receive a flower bouquet. He was previously in talks for the position of sports director at the Black & White & Greens, but it seems those negotiations fell through.
Meanwhile, Grote has already signed with VfL Bochum for the upcoming season, where he'll join the management team as a squad manager and U23 scout.
Marc Lorenz (35), the team's captain and the league's most dangerous free-kick specialist, still hasn't decided on whether to extend his commitment with Münster. A conclusion is likely to be made during the summer break.
It's clear that Niemeyer will probably be eager to contribute to Bremen's squad construction for the upcoming season as soon as possible...
Prior to that, all resources are being directed towards Prussia. The fan community is organizing a joint city march to the stadium, similar to the one for last year's promotion to the 3rd division, with a starting point at the Aasee-Kugeln at 9:30 a.m. The group will leave an hour later. "Bring your flags and let everyone know," they urge. The approximately 3-kilometer route involves walking along the Promenade, Ludgeri traffic circle, and Hammer Straße.
Should the "Eagle Bearers" triumph in the German lowers division against Unterhaching for the first time in 33 years, a joyous return column is planned for the journey back to the city. It will depart from the Aral gas station opposite the stadium at around 5 p.m. United we stand for Preußen Münster.
