Ninjas in Pyjamas and Betway renew their alliance.

Ninjas in Pyjamas (NiP) and online betting company Betway are rekindling their partnership. The two companies had parted ways in late August to the dismay of fans.

At first, NiP and Betway had signed a multi-year partnership. However, NiP ended the deal after barely 11 months. The Swedish eSports team had rebuilt its League of Legends team following a four-year hiatus, seeking to compete in the European LCS championship. Sadly, league organizer Riot Games' rules prohibited partnerships with gambling companies.

NiP's LCS participation is temporarily halted as the team failed to qualify for the upcoming spring season. The organization believes it's too soon to say goodbye to its former main sponsor Betway, who've consistently supported their League of Legends squad.

"We're excited to announce the resumption of our partnership with Betway now that our agreement with the LCS is coming to an end," said Lukas "Kameeleon" Berc, a member of NiP.

Both parties were thrilled with their partnership. Betway teamed up with NiP's famous Counter-Strike team to create popular content on YouTube and provide glimpses into the daily lives of the players, along with tips and tricks from the pros. According to the Ninjas, the two sides not only had a successful professional relationship but also formed a strong personal connection, with their players and Betway's eSports team often playing together and feeling more integrated into the NiP community.

The fleeting separation also led to a strong fan backlash - even more than NiP's management had anticipated. "We've never seen such a massive response to a partnership as we did on August 13th when we dropped our Betway sponsorship due to our participation in the EU LCS. The opinions of fans, players, and staff are important to us, so we carefully considered the decision. The past 12 months we've worked with Betway have been fantastic; the content we created together has brought our players closer to the fans," a statement from NiP read.

It seems that this brief break in the sponsorship will have few long-term consequences. Both sides are eager to renew their partnership, with Betway aiming to be a leader in the rapidly growing eSports betting industry through its involvement, and NiP receiving a "high six-figure sum" from the bookmaker each year.
