Just two receive more. - NFL star scores huge financial victory
In the Waddle household, there's lots of excitement. His recent contract puts him among the league's top 5 highest-paid receivers, with a guaranteed amount ranking behind only A.J. Brown (84 guaranteed) and Amon-Ra St. Brown (77 guaranteed).
Although his rookie contract currently limits his earnings, he'll only be receiving 8.6 million dollars this season and 15.5 million dollars in the following one. It's not until afterwards when his mega contract kicks in.
Both Tyreek Hill and Waddle are crucial targets for quarterback Tua Tagovailoa in the Miami Dolphins.
Waddle has already broken two franchise records in his first three seasons with the team: three seasons with 1,000 receiving yards and the most receiving yards in those first three years (3,385).
The young star was a first-round pick for the Dolphins in the 2021 NFL Draft, and since then, he's scored 18 touchdowns.
