Next month, Prince Harry is set to return to the United Kingdom.

Prince Harry will read at a ceremony held at London's St. Paul's Cathedral on May 8, to mark the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games and its foundation. This was announced on Sunday. His last visit to his home country was in February after news of his father, King Charles' cancer diagnosis came out. Harry, 39, expressed that he was grateful to have the opportunity to see and spend time with his family during this difficult time. It is unknown if Harry will meet with his relatives during next month's trip.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex moved to the U.S. in 2020. Since then, he has taken several short trips back to the UK, including attending Queen Elizabeth's funeral in 2022 and his father's coronation last year. It is unclear if Meghan will join her husband during the Invictus celebration as it falls just two days after their son Prince Archie's birthday on May 6.

Buckingham Palace announced that King Charles, who is still undergoing treatment, will resume public-facing duties on Tuesday. His doctors expressed satisfaction with his progress and remain optimistic about his recovery. Charles will not carry out a full summer program but will welcome Japan's Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako for a state visit in June.

The Invictus Games were founded by Prince Harry following his deployment in Afghanistan. The event intends to help wounded, injured, and sick service personnel and veterans through the support of adaptive sports. The next Invictus Games will be held in Vancouver and Whistler, Canada, in February 2025.

The Games will include over 500 competitors from more than 20 nations competing in adaptive sports like indoor rowing, sitting volleyball, swimming, wheelchair rugby, and wheelchair basketball. Winter sports will also be introduced for the first time, including Alpine skiing and snowboarding, Nordic skiing and biathlon, skeleton, and wheelchair curling.

These Games will be held in partnership with the First Nations "in the spirit of truth and reconciliation with Indigenous communities." Harry stated this on the games' website.

The prince's office confirmed to CNN on Sunday that he and Meghan would travel to Nigeria in May. The Nigerian Defense Headquarters expressed their "honor and delight" about the duke and duchess's visit.

During their stay, they will be interacting with service members and enjoy various cultural activities. The possibility of Nigeria hosting the Invictus Games in the future will also be discussed. Meghan, the duchess, once mentioned on her podcast "Archetypes" that she is "43 percent Nigerian."
