New York Jets experience futures surge after 'Hard Knocks' debut

The New York Jets, with quarterback Aaron Rodgers at quarterback and an appearance on the HBO series "Hard Knocks," are +1,400 favorites to win the Super Bowl as the seventh team Team.

The Jets went 7-10 last season and haven't won since 2015. They became the favorite to win the Super Bowl after acquiring Rodgers in a trade with the Green Bay Packers.

The Jets will appear on the new season of the hit HBO reality show "Hard Knocks," which follows an NFL team during training camp and the preseason. The first episode of Hard Knocks aired Tuesday night, and Jets futures betting increased across the board.

The Jets were drafted because they hired a future Hall of Fame quarterback and were on a mission to end the NFL's longest playoff drought. The Jets last qualified for the playoffs during the 2010 season under former head coach Rex Ryan.

This is their third season under coach Robert Saleh. Adam Gase takes over a 2-14 team after a disastrous loss in 2020 and is ready to take the Jets to the next level.

Aaron Rodgers Hug

The Jets finished last season 7-10 with Zach Wilson, the No. 2 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, at quarterback. Saleh benched Wilson midway through the 2022 season because of his poor attitude and inability to take responsibility for the team's poor play.

Wilson will be the backup behind Rodgers this season, and there are high expectations that Rodgers can help the team achieve double-digit wins and enter the playoffs.

"Aaron is obviously the best quarterback I've ever had on a team," Saleh said of Rodgers.

Signing Rodgers gave the Jets a huge confidence boost. As long as he's on the field, the Jets believe they have a chance to win every week.

"I don't care what happens this year, we're going to play no matter what," defensive coordinator Jeff Ubrich said.

The Jets will also rely heavily on wide receiver Garrett Wilson (the No. 10 pick in the 2022 NFL Draft) and cornerback Sauce Gardner (the No. 10 pick in the 2022 NFL Draft). The fourth overall pick). Teammates earned Rookie of the Year honors in 2022, with Wilson being named Offensive Rookie of the Year and Gardner being named Defensive Rookie of the Year. The two rising stars compete against each other in training every day, and the fierce battle inspires each other in the common pursuit of becoming elite players in their respective positions.

Push Ganglin into the futures market

When oddsmakers released Super Bowl 58 odds in February, the Jets opened at +2600 to win the next Super Bowl.

With rumors that Rodgers will join the team via trade, the Jets' championship odds have dropped to +1800. After the Jets officially added Rodgers, their Super Bowl odds improved to +1,600.

The Jets have a +1000 chance to win the AFC Championship. They are tied with the Baltimore Ravens for the fourth-best team on the list, behind the defending AFC champion Kansas City Chiefs (+350), Buffalo Bills (+450) and Cincinnati Bengals (+550) . Cincinnati fans are trying not to panic after quarterback Joe Burrow suffered a calf injury early in training camp.

The Bills are the favorite at +120 to win the AFC East and capture their fourth straight division title. They are ahead of the Jets (+270), Miami Dolphins (+300) and New England Patriots (+800).

The Jets have a -130 chance to end their playoff drought and make the playoffs for the first time in 13 years, according to DraftKings betting. The Jets have a +110 chance of missing the playoffs.

The Jets were 7-10 last season with a win total of 9.5 games. The payout is -115 for an upper bet and -105 for a lower bet.

The Packers will replace Rodgers at quarterback this season with Jordan Love. In their first season without Rodgers, the Packers totaled 7.5 wins.

With Rodgers out of center, the Packers have a +180 chance of making the playoffs and a -210 chance of missing the playoffs.

The Packers have a +6500 chance to win the Super Bowl, a +3000 chance to win the NFC Championship, and a solid chance to win the NFC North at +400 odds.
