Edmon Avagyan is the man behind RINGLIFE, the prominent YouTube channel focusing on combat sports in the German-speaking world. He has amassed a loyal following with over half a million subscribers.
RINGLIFE Combat Series (RCS)
Edmon's vision: create a stage for up-and-coming fighters and spotlight stand-up fighting in Germany.
Tournament Format
The event: an 8-person tournament in the knockout format, with a weight class limit of 80 kilograms. The competition consists of three rounds – quarterfinals (2-minute bouts each), semifinals (2-minute bouts each), and finals (5-minute bouts each) – conducted with 6 oz gloves.
Prize Money
A total of €30,000 is distributed among the participants. Each contestant secures €500. If you reach the semifinals, you'll get €500 extra. The champion receives €5,000. Plus, there are additional prizes for the best technician, performance, and best KO, worth €1,000 each.
Theme:
The Motorworld in Cologne will transform into a stunning, 1920s-themed "Peaky Blinders" era getaway for the 2,300 attendees and online viewers. Expect gangsters, smugglers, casinos, and thrilling fights.
Bonus Attractions
In addition to the tournament, there will be bare-knuckle fights (no gloves) between the tournament rounds.
Participants
The eight fighters for the inaugural RCS tournament were chosen in an elimination event last April. These are the fighters to look out for in Cologne:
► Silvio Schierle (26 years old, 220 fights, 180 wins, 2021 European Championship participant, German national team boxer)
► Georgy Gubeladze (24 years old, 110 fights, 70 wins, former national team boxer)
► Hayk Ghukasyan (25 years old, 36 fights, 26 wins, Northern German champion, state champion)
► Andrej Laschenko (22 years old, 60 amateur fights, 3-0 as a professional)
► Hussain Bayat (24 years old, 20 fights, 16 wins)
► Stepan Nikitin (27 years old, 223 fights, 178 wins, German national champion, European Championships, and World Cup participant)
► Ilias Benlamlih (21 years old, 55 fights, 53 wins, several Moroccan championships, and U19 World Championships)
► Maximilian Drummer (28 years old, 19 fights, competitor in one of Edmon's Bare Knuckle Events, "Hades Fighting")
The pairings will be randomly drawn a week prior to the event at a press conference.
