NetEnt strikes deal with Parx Casino, launching a new slot in March.
Famous game developer NetEnt teams up with Philadelphia's Parx Casino to boost their US presence. The Swedish slots developer is set to release a new game, "Temple of Nudges," in March. Here's a closer look at the upcoming slot.
Profitable Online Collaboration
The partnership with Parx is hoping to kickstart NetEnt's second quarter. As part of the agreement, a variety of NetEnt slots and table games will soon be available via the Parx Casino online platform. For this purpose, the company's games will be hosted on the GAN (Game Account Network) platform, which will include free spins and a free spin widget in addition to gambling options.
Parx Casino is operated by Greenwood Gaming and Entertainment, a company located in Philadelphia that runs the largest casino-racing complex in Pennsylvania, consisting of Parx Casino and Parx Racing. Parx Racing boasts its own horse racing track, located near the casino resort. This high-end entertainment resort features 3,330 slots and 132 live table games, as well as amenities like concert venues, restaurants, and sports facilities.
Speaking of the lucrative online deal with one of Europe's top online casino game creators, Parx President Matthew Cullen stated: "We're looking forward to offering NetEnt's impressive gaming content as part of our online casino launch in Pennsylvania."
Legal Gaming Expansion in Pennsylvania
The collaboration between NetEnt and Parx comes at an exciting time for gaming enthusiasts in the US. The passing of a law amendment in 2017 that allows official casino licenses for online slots, table, and poker games, and online sports betting has been anticipated. While the bill's enactment was initially projected for 2018, CEO Nyman says it's now expected "sometime in the second quarter."
Should this law pass, Pennsylvania, with a population of 12.8 million, will become the fourth state to officially permit internet gaming. The online sector's regulation is like in Germany, where the individual states are responsible for overseeing it.
Despite high online slot and sports betting taxes of 54% and 36% respectively, Pennsylvania's thriving gambling market has been attracting Europeans providers. In January, for example, a sports betting deal was announced between Parx and Malta-based Kambi Group.
Three US Partnerships and Counting
NetEnt's agreement with Parx is one of three deals secured in Pennsylvania. Just a month after NetEnt applied for a supplier license in the state, it announced it would work with Wyomissing-based casino giant, Penn National Gaming. This means NetEnt's games will now be available primarily on Hollywood Casino's subcontractor, Penn Interactive.
In addition, NetEnt confirmed an "expansion of activities" with US horse racing organizer, Churchill Downs, in October. own casino establishment, and operates its own horse racing track, much like Parx Casino. The company also owns racetracks in Kentucky and facilities in other states like Florida, Illinois, Louisiana, Maine, Mississippi, Maryland, and Ohio.
Nyman added that NetEnt is currently discussing partnerships with more operators - it's noted that Pennsylvania, the country's second-largest state preparing to regulate online casinos, has the second-highest gambling revenues per capita in the US. How accurate Nyman's predictions will be remains to be seen.
Exciting New Slot
Set in Mayan and Aztec times, NetEnt's latest slot, "Temple of Nudges," will take players on an adventurous journey to the South American jungle. Featuring five reels and three rows, the 243-line slot showcases exotic symbols like the howler monkey, jaguar, anteater, snake, bird, and sloth in brightly carved stones.
Currency stakes for Temple of Nudges range from 0.25 to 250 euros per spin. The return to player rate (RTP) is an attractive 96.03%. There's no information yet on the maximum winning amount. However, it's known that the slot will offer no wilds but a 87x stake multiplier. The game is set to be playable on smartphones, desktops, and tablets.
Enjoy playing NetEnt's next thrilling slot, Temple of Nudges!
