During the postseason - NBA star aids Alba!
It seems that Alba Berlin is trying to get NBA legend Scottie Pippen (six championships with the Chicago Bulls) to attend their upcoming game.
On Tuesday at 8:30 pm, the Israel Gonzales-coached team will take on Chemnitz 99ers, marking the start of the semi-finals in the Easycredit Basketball Bundesliga.
Will Pippen show up for the event?
He's currently in the German capital, having watched the EuroLeague Final Four on Friday. He spectated as Panathinaikos beat Fenerbahce Istanbul (73:57) and Real Madrid edged out Olympiakos (87:76).
Friends persuaded him to make the journey. When asked what teams he believes are at the top, he replied: "Honestly, I have no idea which teams are even here. I don't know much about the players I'll see. But I'm really excited about it."
During the games, NBA stars Dennis Schroder (30/Brooklyn Nets) and Giannis Antetokounmpo (29/Milwaukee Bucks) sat next to Pippen.
NBA Legend Scottie Pippen May Assist Alba in the Playoffs!
Pippen was at the Olympiastadion on Saturday to watch the DFB Cup final between Bayer Leverkusen and 1. FC Kaiserslautern (1:0). He was guarded by two bodyguards.
On Sunday, he is expected to return to the Uber Arena, where Real Madrid and Panathinaikos Athens will battle for the European title in club basketball.
Pippen is familiar with the venue, but it's still uncertain whether he'll remain in Berlin until Tuesday to observe the BBL playoffs.
While Michael Jordan's moniker was used by a different player in the Bundesliga, it was only a namesake of the greatest basketball player ever.
Alba Berlin chose not to comment on the speculations regarding Pippen's attendance.
