Annual salary of 95 million? - NBA precedes coal blast!

In the summer of '25, history is bound to be made, but after that, the real storm of coal could kick off. Among those set to steal the show is Luka Doncic (25), currently a giant in the Dallas Mavericks. His delight is palpable as he's on the verge of sealing the biggest NBA deal ever - a staggering $346 million!

To put this into perspective, Jaylen Brown of the Boston Celtics currently holds the record with a contract worth $304 million. Jayson Tatum, his teammate, might even sign a $316 million deal in the coming summer. Then Doncic takes center stage.

This is only the start.

The NBA is in the midst of discussing future TV contracts, which could potentially bring in a mind-boggling $76 billion over the following eleven years. Ridiculous, right?

With such lucrative contracts in the pipeline, it's no surprise that salaries would skyrocket. The league's salary cap, currently sitting at $136 million, might jump by 10% each year. This could balloon the cap to a jaw-dropping $200 million by the '28-'29 season.

Here's where it gets interesting. Players who make it into the All-NBA teams automatically earn the privilege to sign larger contracts, but only up to 35% of the salary cap. If the cap rises to such an extent, the salary for the '32-'33 season could be a jaw-dropping $95 million.

But here's the kicker. Since Doncic's contract is linked to a percentage of the salary cap, this increase could mean an even bigger payday for him.

So, brace yourselves, because clarity on these new contracts is set to arrive in the coming days... right when the NBA wants to wrap up its negotiations and reveal the full extent of its financial madness.
