Offensive public display - "Munich's Noise Parade" demands increased sound levels.
Groups of people gathered at Odeonsplatz and marched through half the city towards Theresienwiese. Nearly 40 teams made up of old diesel trucks and mighty sound systems joined the procession. Despite the prohibition on alcohol and drugs, many chose to ignore it and party. It appeared that minors were also a part of the parade.
The organization "More Noise for Munich" marked their tenth anniversary with the parade. They stand against the closing of cultural spaces due to luxury developments.
The participants held up signs with aggressive slogans like "No nighttime restrictions in the city center," "We're part of the city," and "The beat has been there since the start." As reported by the police, the demonstration was smooth, and an estimated 4,000 protesters took part. Leftist extremists from the Antifa also joined in the protest.
