Forty individuals engaged. - Multiple people hurt in a large fight at a swimming complex.
Around 7 pm, a fight broke out between two groups, leaving five individuals injured. A 17-year-old Syrian suffered severe head wounds and was transported to Neubrandenburg Hospital. It's estimated that "several dozen people" actively participated in the clash, which lasted three hours. Police described the environment as exceptionally hostile, discovering a knife on one of the assailants and filing numerous charges.
Several known individuals were involved in the altercation. The department of criminal investigation is currently probing cases of assault, grievous bodily harm, and disturbance of peace.
The skirmish took place as about 2000 people gathered at Broda beach to celebrate. The "Aloha" beach bar also commenced operations nearby. Marco Voß, the event's organizer, expressed shock and displeasure at the police's tardiness. "We're aware that incidents frequently occur on Sundays. But the officers didn't arrive until the situation had spiraled out of control."
Despite police presence, more attacks ensued. The gathering was ultimately dispersed at approximately 10 pm, and evacuating the lido lasted into the wee hours of the morning. Roughly 60 police officers were sent in response to the incident. Investigations have thus far focused on twelve German and Syrian suspects.
The motive or starting point behind the brawl remain a mystery to the law enforcement of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, who have issued a request for any witnesses with potential video footage on their tip-off website: mv.hinweisportal.de.
