Multiple arrests made, and properties seized in various states during gambling raids.

Recently, four illegal gambling operations in different states resulted in arrests and the confiscation of illegal devices, cash, and firearms.

On one such occasion, a gambling den in Leeds, Alabama was discovered, containing five gambling machines, two firearms, and an undisclosed sum of cash. Thomas Jeffery Bynum, 56, was subsequently arrested for possessing five gambling devices and promoting gambling, as reported by Alabama TV station WBMA. A judge granted permission for the search. No further details were revealed by the Alabama police.

In South Carolina earlier this month, Danny Ray Turner and Brenda G. Turner, both 74, from Marion County, were incarcerated for gambling and seven counts of possessing/operating illegal gambling devices. The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division conducted a raid on their home on July 10, seizing seven Pot O Gold gaming machines featuring poker, keno, and blackjack. These devices are illegal in South Carolina.

The Turners were arrested on July 12 and lodged at the Marion County Detention Center before being released after each posted an $8K bond. Brenda Turner confessed to operating the illegal machines, according to WBTW, a South Carolina TV station. Their cases were subsequently handed over to local prosecutors in the 12th Circuit Solicitor's Office.

In Akron, Ohio, five people were taken into custody and gambling devices were confiscated in a raid during June. Over $18,000 in cash, 40 gambling motherboards, one half-gram of suspected fentanyl, drug paraphernalia, an AR-15-style rifle, and three handguns were seized, as per WOIO, a local TV station. A search warrant was granted on June 7. Kyle Brown, 27, Leonard Cross IV, 23, and Davontae James, 30, were charged with gambling and operating a gambling house. Brown and Cross were held at the Summit County Jail, while the other suspects were issued a summons to appear in court. Michael Walsh, 37, who allegedly possessed the fentanyl and paraphernalia, was charged with drug-related offences. Beth Ison, 33, was arrested for an unrelated warrant and for misrepresenting her identity. All five cases were transferred to local prosecutors.

In a separate Akron incident, a 16-year-old was shot in June at the Royal Queens Party Center, which authorities suspect was an illegal gambling operation. Another 19-year-old, Donovan Alexander, and 34-year-old Billy Walker, who leases the property, were charged with operating a gambling house. They were taken to the Summit County Jail.

A 16-year-old got injured in the abdomen in an alleged gambling operation, with the incident happening at Akron's Royal Queens Party Center. The teen was taken to Akron Children's Hospital and subsequently charged with aggravated robbery and aggravated assault. WKYC, an Ohio TV station, reported that the teen had entered the establishment, pulled out a firearm, and got into an altercation with another individual, resulting in a gun discharge. Authorities also found gambling machines, gambling devices, and unspecified cash during the search.
