Mr. Green launches new responsible gaming instrument.

Swedens online gaming portal, Mr Green, is taking steps to incorporate responsible gaming tools into its platform. Starting September, a new feature called "Green Gaming Tool" will be made available to users to help them identify and address risky behavior earlier on.

Developed in collaboration with Swedish company Sustainable Interaction, this tool was designed specifically by Mr Green to offer features such as self-testing, breaks, self-exclusion and self-help to regular visitors. While the launch date is confirmed, the tool will initially run alongside the existing "Gamtest" system. The unique aspect of the "Green Gaming Tool" is its ability to analyze gambling patterns and identify risky behavior at an early stage. This information can then be used to provide assistance to the affected user.

Other online platforms like Sky Bet and William Hill are also pursuing similar paths, working together to create an algorithm to identify players showing signs of gambling addiction. As the CEO of Mr Green explains:

"The Green Gaming tool will enable us to adapt our offerings to cater to high-risk customer behavior in line with the philosophy of 'healthy client, healthy income.'" - Per Norman, CEO of Mr Green.

Mr Green recently reported a 36.3% increase in turnover coupled with lower marketing and operating costs last Friday. The CEO reaffirmed Mr Greens commitment to leading the industry and their involvement in the consolidation of the market.

"We aim to remain a key player in the consolidation of the industry and are well-equipped to make acquisitions." - Per Norman, CEO of Mr Green.

Meanwhile, in Germany, the need for player protection is also gathering momentum. A week ago, Berlin-based technology company "entri" founded the gambling network Game Check Germany, an alliance between lotteries, betting providers, amusement arcades, machine operators, and casinos. Their goal is to tackle the challenges of gambling law and implement solutions like the nationwide identification and control technologies playID and Facetrakk. The coalition plans to create a national blacklist to help problem gamblers avoid potential trigger points.

The German gambling industry is sizable, with a yearly turnover of 32 billion Euros generating approximately 3 billion Euros in tax revenue. The revenue is distributed among 242,500 slot machines in restaurants and gaming arcades, 24,500 lottery retailers, and 76 casinos. About half of Germans regularly gamble, with 300,000 having issues with gambling and 2,000 requiring inpatient treatment. While the focus is mostly on physical gambling locations, these figures represent the landscape of the iGaming industry as well.

In summary, companies like Mr Green, Sky Bet, and William Hill are beginning to take responsibility for their customers and developing tools to help those with potential gambling problems. With Game Check Germany, the focus on player protection is expanding across the industry and the coming months will show how these initiatives can make a difference in actual practice.
