Mother stabs her young daughter (4). - Mother with a knife walks barefoot to the magistrate.
On a Wednesday morning in Burghausen (Altötting district), the authorities believe that Caroline H. stabbed her own daughter with a knife inside an apartment building. The girl, aged four, sustained extremely severe injuries as a result.
Arrest at the Scene
Around 3:50 am, an emergency call from the grandparents reached the authorities. Upon arrival, emergency medical services found the girl had sustained severe cuts and stab wounds to her neck and face. The mother was arrested on the scene.
The wounded child was transported to the hospital by paramedics. There, she underwent life-saving surgery to treat her dangerous injuries. Thankfully, the young girl is no longer in immediate danger.
Later that day, a judge from the Traunstein district court issued a detention order for the woman. She will be taken to a psychiatric hospital for investigation. Currently, she is under scrutiny for attempted murder.
Investigators are now looking into the circumstances and motive behind this heinous crime. The length of the four-year-old's hospital stay is yet to be determined.
