World Cup excitement for ice hockey enthusiasts - More than half a million people have watched this.
The former goalkeeper for Landshut who's now in charge of organizing the World Cup events, Petr Briza, is thrilled that people are buying tickets not just for the Czech team's games but also for the other games. It's awesome to see packed arenas!
More than 170,000 people have already hung out at the fan zone in Prague. It's big enough to hold 7000 folks at a time, and it's free to enterâexcept for the beer. A half-liter of Pilsner Urquell can cost you 110 crowns (4.40 euros), but if you opt for a cup instead, it'll be around 60 crowns (2.40 euros). Around 2000 to 3000 fans from Germany showed up for each match.
To make sure everyone's safe, all guests have to go through security checks. No backpacks, no umbrellas.
Briza couldn't be happier with how things are going. Fans from all over the world are praising the event, and they've had great experiences.
News coverage about the World Cup is through the roof! The work environment is stellar.
Both Prague and Ostrava can say it was a win for them. The Czech association will end the tourney with a hefty financial profit.
