Judgment following accident - Militia officer charged with intoxicated driving lands behind bars.

In a recent trial, a former army officer was convicted of recklessly endangering road safety, driving without a license, and forging documents. Despite having lost his driver's license due to drunk driving, he was caught multiple times driving while intoxicated in 2022. In March of that year, he had a blood alcohol level of 1.8 per mille when he crashed into a tree while trying to escape from the police. Two weeks later, his blood alcohol level was measured at 1.3 by the police. During his escape, he damaged two parked cars, a scooter, and a motorcycle.

The court case in Munich was relatively mild compared to the one he will face on May 21 in Frankfurt/Main. Investigators allege that Eder was part of the command staff for a conspiracy led by terror supervisor Heinrich XII. Reiß (72). This extremist group was planning and preparing a coup and an attack on the Bundestag in Berlin from August 2021. The charges include membership in a terrorist organization, and Eder could face up to ten years in prison.

The trial took place under enhanced security measures. Eder admitted that he had increased his alcohol consumption drastically during the coronavirus pandemic. In his closing remarks, which lasted almost four hours, he made it clear that he would not serve his sentence. "I'll do a few more things. Then I'll say goodbye world. I have no intention of spending my life in a cell like this," he said.

Eder also discussed his experiences during military deployments in Georgia, Afghanistan, Kosovo, and Rwanda. He was once a commanding officer in the Special Forces Command (KSK). Reflecting on these missions, Eder stated: "I saw dismembered bodies, unimaginable suffering. When we returned from the missions, we drank beer or wine." The prosecutor asked for an eleven-month prison sentence and a two-year driving ban, while the judge ruled out the possibility of a suspended sentence.
